Desalination Pumps

High Pressure Pumps

Superfoss develops high pressure pumps (HPP) for Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) and the Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) applications.
The product line is based on the efficient Axial Piston Pump principle.
The pumps are designed and produced in Denmark and manufactured from Duplex and Super Duplex stainless steels ensuring a product of highest quality.
They come in 4 different sizes ranging from 4,9 m^3/h to 11,1 m^3/h at 1800 rpm. The pumps are suitable for speed regulation in the range of 650 - 1800 rpm.
Below is an overview of various speeds/flows/pressures and the recommended motor sizes.

The super numbers

90%_2

Efficiencies up to 90%

Minimum flow resistance through the pump is achieved with a valve plate design instead of check valves. This combined with low friction sliding pairs and hydrodynamic main bearings results in a highly efficient pump.

Affordable

Using the latest developments tools and modern 5 axis machining makes the pumps affordable to buy. High efficiency and low maintenance makes them affordable to run.

Corrosion resistant

With the casing made of Duplex and internal parts made of Super Duplex stainless steel. We are confident to allow a seawater inlet temperature up to 50 °C.

Integrated flushing valve

When the pump is not running a integrated one way flushing valve allows flow from the pump inlet to the outlet.

Port connections
according to ISO-6149

For minimum leakage and maximum vibration resistance. Superfoss pumps are designed with metric M42x2 thread and a o-ring seal according to ISO-6149

9 pistons and low pulsations

No need for pulsation dampers. 9 pistons have a kinematic non-uniformity grade of 1,5% compared to 14% for a 3 piston design.

Compact design and
small footprint

Axial piston pumps have a high power density. With a diameter of ø178mm, length of 320mm and a weight og 35Kg, it is easy to transport and can be installed where space is limited.

Water lubricated
– no oil changes

The seawater acts both as a lubricant and as a coolant. You need to prefilter your water carefully, but no need for oil changes.

Up to 1800 rpm
and direct drive

The pumps have a speed range of 650 rpm to 1800 rpm. They are designed to mounted directly to the electric motor by means of a standard bellhousing and claw coupling. No need for belt drives or gearboxes.

Constant flow regardless
of pressure variations

As a positive displacement pump the variations in flow as function pressure is insignificant
